These little baubles have to be hands down one of the most satisfying objects I’ve ever made.
I gave myself some restrictions coming back into the studio earlier in the year which meant I had to focus on what stocks of fabric, yarn and carefully collected offcuts I already had and how I could work with them to create something new.
The smaller the offcuts, the trickier they are to use, but as they’re generated with every make over time they add up to a large volume of material. These baubles are created using these tiny offcuts, yarn cuttings and stock yarns. Designing and making these baubles has given me a new perspective for all the trimmings I didn’t previously know what to do with and I’m excited to see where this will take me going forward.
Inspired by the many conkers, acorns and seed pods I’ve been stuffing my pockets with over the last few months, these baubles are hand sculpted using 100% recycled textile and yarn offcuts from the studio and finished with highlight details from our stocks of yarn.
Light, warm and soft to the touch these baubles are a rich blend of texture and colour. Available in 5 jewel bright colours for Christmas, they come in two sizes, small and large.
As these baubles are made by hand using an irregular collection of materials, each one is unique although I do endeavour to keep the sizes as consistent as possible.
